On October 26 and 27, 2006, ICO hosted Towards the Olympics: China 's Opportunities and Challenges, 2006 Conference on CSR and Sustainable Development , at the Panglin Hotel, Shenzhen. Conference participants came from over 15 countries and included representatives from multinational and domestic corporations, international and domestic NGOs, government and academia.
In all, two plenary and 14 breakout sessions were held. Wide-ranging views on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and China 's future development were shared. Participants all thought highly of the proceedings, which created a platform for stakeholders to share their ideas on and experience with CSR in China .
