Engaged in environmental protection work since 1988, he managed the Hong Kong environmental organization Green Power from 1991-1993, when it was Hong Kong's most influential environmental protection organization. He managed several environmental projects in China funded by UNEP from 1993 to 1995. He started an eco-village with the South China Agricultural University in 1995. So far, more than 30 doctoral students and masters students have done their research in and graduated from the eco-village. In December 2004, he became a member of ICO's Board of Directors.
