Nike Corp., founded in 1972, was originally the Blue Ribbon Sports Company. It became Nike in 1978, and its shoes found their way into Canada, Australia, Europe and South America. Nike entered China in 1980, setting up a manufacturing liaison agency in Beijing. Since then, Nike has practiced a policy of “local for local” and focused on the improvement of conditions for employees in all supplier countries. Simultaneously, Nike has also become a mover and shaker within the world of CSR.
