Chaida Factory's Management and Workers Jointly Training Project

Guangdong Kaiping Chaida Garment Factory was built up in 1989, with 10,000 square area and 700 employees. The products of Chaida factory are garment, including Skiing dress, sports shirt, and child dress.

From April 2004, SAI, ICO and Chaida Garment Factory launched the management and workers Joint training project. This project probed to build up harmonious labor relationships in Chinese factories. With introduction of International Labor Standards and Chinese relevant laws, the project tries to help the management and workers to understand new challenges and effects on living conditions and labor rights protection brought by globalization. SAI, ICO analyzed problems faced with factories, discussed the solution program, and explored the best model of communication channel between management and workers in factories with Chaida factory together. This project took different and effective training functions: overall training & emphasized training, formal training & informal communication. There are group discussion, role playing, and games during the training.

There are some effects of training: effective communication channel between management and workers was built up in the factory; employees have built up confidence to protect their legal rights; help the factory keep long-term business partnership with clients.
