ICO takes advantage of communication in the globalization era, carries out field investigation with a global view, and finds out truth and information by an innovative and practical approach. In the beginning of ICO, making use of the advantage that we are familiar with the condition of the Pearl River Delta and labor life, we extended our research field into sensitive issues that many professionals wouldn't touch, such as the injury of migrant workers, the relationship of population mobility to economy development and the effects on Chinese society from MNC's code of conduct.
After 2002, the researching strength of ICO continued to grow stronger, and we gradually found our own way to research. At the same time, the fields of research themselves were expanded and deepened.
Beginning in 2003, ICO became actively concerned with many international research projects, and continuously produced independent research reports. We used a global perspective to work on some important issues, like labour rights, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable development of economic society. The achievements of ICO have had strong influence at home and aboard, and they reflect the unique value and important role of a civil think tank.
